Biography and career:

Ms. Jasmina Vasović was born on August 01, 1969 in Čačak.  Having graduated from the Law Faculty, University of Belgrade 1995, she began her legal career as a judicial apprentice at the First Municipal Court in Belgrade: 1998 – 2000 and passed bar exam on June 27, 2000. 
She served as a judge of the First Municipal Court in Belgrade since 2001, firstly within the Investigation Department and later continued working as a Judge of the Civil Department until July 2003.  Between 2003 and 2009 she served as a Judge of the Criminal Department at the First Municipal Court in Belgrade. On December 16, 2009, she was appointed Judge of the Higher Court in Belgrade, within the Criminal Department. She continued her judicial career as a Judge of the Appellate Court in Belgrade since October 2013 within the Criminal Department, and later also, she was a member of the Special Department for Organized Crime.
She was Representative of the Republic of Serbia in the European Judicial Network, member of the Programme Council of the Judicial Academy, mentor, lecturer and trainer at the Judicial Academy. She participated in numerous judicial seminars in the country and abroad. She was a member of the Working Group drafting the Law on Protection of Right to a Trial within Reasonable Time. She is also author of several papers published in the judicial bulletins.
She assumed her position of the President of the Supreme Court of Cassation at the General Session of the Supreme Court of Cassation held on April 16, 2021, after being elected by the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, at the Session held on April 8, 2021.
